whats blocked???
ran an errand at lunch and on the way back i noticed the temp guage at 100c then it went to 120. luckily i was close to home and parked it.
this is the 81 300td btw. the lower hose from the expansion tank is cold. the hose from the radiator to the e.tank is hot. the lower hose from the engine to the radiator is cold. am i right in thinking the prob is the thermostat? bonus question.....what can i use to attach the borrom of a window to the arm to raise and lower it. my rr came adrift and it is closed but i would like to open it sometime.

Change the T-stat, and see if that fixes it. If for no other reason cuz its cheap.

yep it is the right rear window. i have it pushed up in place with the carrier holding it. screws? really?

Re. the window. I think you're going to have to pull the inside door panel to see what the problem is. Then you can either reattach the glass or replace a screw/bolt, if that is missing.

got the thermostat in and am finishing it up. on an old post it mentioned that if the fan turned by had the clutch is bad which could add to heating problems. you guessed it.
after i change the oil in red maybe i will tackle the window. lets ee and shower again and make a salad for the dinner party. and go to the party.....what am i sitting here for??

tightened the bolts and at idle there was a little weeoing on the top left bolt. tightened again no i didn't overtightened. no horror story. took the car for a ride and the needle is stuck on 90c hot. cool.
what diesel giants pictorial did not show was the fan shroud and the fan blades in the way and the two hoses for the a/c going over the top of the housing. okay i am good with that anyway it was just a little tougher to do. as we all know if the job is not a little difficult there is no satisfaction in it. now the rr window.
