Unhappy central locking system issue..

a couple days ago the central locking system stopped working. I was reading the W124 shop manual cdrom i bought on ebay. It was showing me how to test if the power cable for the pump is giving power. I checked with a multimeter, and the multimeter read nothing.

Im assuming im getting no power from the cable. The manual refers to a 30A strip fuse according to the wiring diagram but i cant seem to figure out which fuse they are reffering too.

much help appreciated!

EDIT: i forgot to mention checking the fuse box. The paper says row-C is for the central locking system (in the fuse box) so i replaced them all with new fuses but no go

No the pump doesnt operate at all when i lock or unlock any of the doors or the trunk. Thats why i suspect im getting no power from the cable. The mulimeter doesnt read anything coming from the cable.

ok i was over at reids house (dieseldiehard) and we were trying to see why my locks werent working. It seemed like the power cable wasnt grounding correctly. So we connected it straight to a battery but still no go.

We tested what i think were the actuator cables with a multimeter but read nothing.

The shop manual cdrom i had would refer to a fuse that we cant seem to find. We tested the fuse boxes central locking system fuse for power and was properly working but the locks still dont work. Reid thinks the fuse is located somewere under the dash, tomorrow morning im going to be looking for fuses under there but maybe someone else here can help me. figure out this problem.

Same problem on 87 TDT -- no power to pump

Greasybenz, did you ever get this resolved? My wiring diag indicates that from fuse C the wire goes to X30 which is a connector block for accessories which appears to be under the drivers kick panel. I'm going to check that.

I put vacuum and pressure on the line at the pump and all doors locked and unlocked. I did not go a head and jumper the pump to see if it runs yet. I have power at fuse C but none at pump. Thanks for any advice.

I didn't know the 124 was different from the 126 in this regard. The 126 vac pump gets it's power directly from the fuse box in the engine compartment.

Can anybody pull up the w124 diagram and confirm this?

I have the wiring diag. It does say it goes from fuse C to an electrical connecting block X30 and then to pump.

I looked for X30 lastnight under drivers kick panel. Could not find it. I did find the big plug that connects blinkers and other instruments from fuse box though..

Here is pic of Fuse Block Details for Fuse C . I cant find the X30 connector block.

Just jumpered my pump wire from the battery to test my pump. It works and all doors lock from passenger door. Drivers door is different story. But, good to know the pump works. Still looking for X30 plug.

Found and fixed my problem thanks to member here who pointed me to this link http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=50485&highlight=X48F

The x84F (see fuse block details above) wire connection under carpet in right passenger floor was corroded. That is where power wire branches to pump , dome lights in middle, and all 3 lock actuators. Not a bad fix.

Glad you found it. It would be nice if the manuals had actual locations of these parts/connections.

The ETM does have parts locations; some even include tagged pictures. Page 142/1 "Central Locking System) has a note "For Component Locations See Page 204." On page 204, X48F is listed as being part of the "Central locking harness, right rear door sill."
