I think that would give the opposite result.

Sorry, that's what I meant. If you remove the pressure line it will read no boost and will give you minimum fuel. I think you would have to actually remove it to test it.

The complete ALDA needs to be removed off the IP, not just the boost line.

Thumbs up

So what's the scoop with the open hole on top of the IP?

No hole. The shaft coming out the IP has it's own seal.

alda removal

I don't know if you remember this forcedinduction but a few weeks ago you gave me some advise on this very subject. I was under the impression that removing the guts of the alda , reinstalling it , and hooking back up the lines was what I was supposed to do . Is this right? Or was I supposed to leave it off altogether and plug the line running to it?

Now Brian add a bit more boost and see if you can get it consistantly below 10 seconds.
No worries my boy. The max fuel is not governed by the ALDA.........the ALDA only restricts fuel below max boost. You can do the same thing by not pressing your right foot all the way down. Once you get full boost, the ALDA provides full fuel.......by removing the ALDA, you provide full fuel.......or not.

You can do one of two things.

1: Remove the ALDA, disassemble, remove the guts, reinstall the empty ALDA and block the boost line.
2: Remove the ALDA, block the boost line and leave the ALDA off.

Reinstalling the empty ALDA can work as a dust cover to keep the bare metal shaft clean and/or to keep a stock look.

One more thing - what the heck does 'ALDA' stand for??? Is it English or German???

Automatische LadeDruck Anreicherung
Literal translation: Automatic Load Printing Enrichment

Should we start calling it an ALPE?
