Leaky tranny

The combo that is going into my clean 85 has tranny fluid leak. It seems like the area where the tranny and engine block meet is pretty wet. However the torque convert itself is bone dry ans I look at it thu the vented area of the tranny housing.

While it's out, I'd like to fix the leak.

At this point I am guessing that the front tranny seal is the culprit but I am asking the members with more expereince than me f there are other things I should look into.

Also autozone does not carr any gaskets or seal for my 300D.

What is the best place to order these parts btw ????

Tips on replacing the seal would be apreicated as well.

i found the leak in my 300d tranny in this area to be the front pump. not only was a new seal needed, but a new pump as well. hopefully its just the sealsd in your case...

I do not know if it is the same as my 300sdl was but that one was leaking and it was all the orings that seal the frt pump .they were hard as plastic.if you have it out I would replace all the seals that I could get to servo covers shiftshaft ect.

With the tranny already off the car, How hard it is to replace the seals ? How long does it take ?
