1987 300D fuel leak
Hey Guys
I Had a fuel leak on the six nipples on top of my injection pump. I removed them to change the o-rings and now it won't start. Please help. it has a six cylinder diesel engine Dan |

Dan,
Chances are you haven't cranked it enough to release the air in the injection lines. If everything is buttoned up tight you should be able to crank it until it starts. Did you torque the delivery valves properly per the TDM? I did this job and everything worked fine as soon as the air was bleed out. I fought a "nailing" noise for almost 1 year but that's another story that wasn't even related to the pump.

The manual says to crank for up to a minute at a time with the pedal all the way to the floor. I find it less taxing on the battery and starter to loosen all six injector lines, crank for 10-15 seconds at a time and tighten each line as fuel leaks out of it.
