300D ALL new brakes. Do I need the anti-rattle spring?
When I removed my old calipers both of the front had holes in the top of the rubber dust boots for the pistons. I think it was from the "anti-rattle" springs that are used on my car. I have an 85' 300D. Do I need to put these things back in?

The holes in the rubber boots were caused by the fact they're 21 years old.
It's silly to think this is a design problem. You need to replace the rubber. You should continue using the antirattle shims. |
