It was a black snake, with gold stripes. When I tried to get it by the head, it didnt have a helmet on. Didnt kill it, but sure did take it out of action for a while. Also poked it quite a bit in the gut, about where a snake apendix would be. Hasnt come out to play since. Oh well, I was hoping to enjoy some long drives with it tomorrow night, instead I'll just have to go mix up a BATCH of biodiesel.
(Non PA or FL residents disregard that last paragraph)
of course if all else fails you could always make your thumb look like a mouse and when the snake attaches itself...well,just pull him out!!lol
You could always just drive around for a while.pobably drop out at the giant eagle and crawl into someone elses buggy.lol

I think they used this idea in "Gone in 60 seconds" movie with Nicholas Cage.
Remember the H1 truck in the parking garage that gets stolen by the deaf Russian and the crazy black pimp guy???

I watched this almost 3 times last weekend... i just really get into car chases.

That would be hilarious if someone really tried to steal your car, and got bitten by the snake.

Update: Irony.

Ok, I havent seen my snake in 3 days now, so I think its either gone or dead behind the tank.

But that's not the end of the story. Yesterday, I hosed out the trunk to get rid of some of the mouse poo and snake skins, etc. As I tried to do some work on the exhaust today, some water was dripping from under the spare tire - it didnt smell to fresh. So I decided to take out the spare and see what was under there. Would you believe a 2" deep ring (14" diameter) of mouse excrement? Yep. Had to get out the full size shovel, it was so deep. Then sprayed it out for 20 minutes. The worst part (well, not really; that's hard to beat) was that there was also some fresh droppings in there, too.

So, long story short, Anyone know how to get the snake to come back into the car and get rid of the mice???

This may be a bit late...try a black snake trap. Snakes will eat eggs. Build a box outta plywood with a partition wall with a hole about ohhh, your snake-diameter size. Then put an egg on each side of the partition wall.

Snake eats the first egg..pokes around and looks through the hole, sees the second egg, slides in and eats it....now it is screwed! It can't come or go...it is stuck in hole. remove box from car, remove head from snake, problem solved.

Crude but effective. Have "cured" many chicken snakes using this method. I suppose in time the egg would digest and the snake could get out....I just never gave them that much time. BTW, hogs love snakes.....recycle!

I hate killing black snakes....but not as bad as I would hate a snake in my car! Now, my question is this....HOW did it get in there in first place....Where did it get in?

You could try gassing it with exhaust fumes, you'll know if it's dead by the smell.

If it was dead you would know it for sure, dead rotten snakes stink (especially water moccasins and copperheads). After you get your trunk cleaned out, stick a bunch of Moth balls in it and the snake wont return.
