Help! Snake on a Benz

Hey,
I've got a large black snake living in the trunk. It lives between the back seat and the fuel tank, coming out to warm itself on top of the tank, and hiding the rest of the time. I usually cant get a good shot at it, and I just now got a hold of its head with a BBQ tong, but that just made it mad, and it tried to bite me. (I really hope its just a black snake!)
Anyway, the mice are long gone, but I'd like to rid myself of this thing, too. Suggestions?

Spray some puffs of brake cleaner in the trunk, the fumes will probably tick it off and it will leave, and the brake cleaner just evaporates. I use it for everything, I am sure others will have other ideas.

How did it get in there in the first place, seems pretty hard to believe.....

I've used ice before..to get a King snake outta the firewall. Place ice near the snake, and it should slither away from the cold.

Then you should put the snake in your basement. They can be good to have around.

I've been working on the brakes for a few weeks now, so I'm sure its built up an immunity to fluid. I like the ice idea, though it might be hard to get it behind the tank. Also, I had it idling on 3yr old fuel yesterday for about an hour; I was sick from the exhaust- it didnt care.

3 years ago, I put the car "out to pasture" while I built my house and needed a truck. Mice got in after a few weeks. Then they disappeared when my friend showed up. Still there these years later, and big! At least 4'. Probably got in through the trunk drains.

Keep the ideas coming!

Hi Ruben, well my sister is animal control and deputy sheriff in a small Colorado town, and she would hate it if anyone called about a snake. Snakes and skunks are the worst things imaginable. She would be happy to take out her pistol and come shoot it!

Mothballs also work to repel animals and shouldn't leave an odor for long.

Animal Control?! That's like asking anyone of us to take our vehicles to the shop to change a headlight! I will not be defeated by pea brained serpent!

I've thought about the moth balls, though. There's a product called "Snake Away" that is primarily mothballs plus a special ingredient (Snake Oil, of course).

Speaking of snake oil, what if I spray some DSE on it?

Its justa snake it won't hurt you they are nice to have around. Start driving it and the snake will find a new home pretty quick.

Or you can do it the redneck way:
1. Drink some beer
2. Load shotgun
3. Drink some more beer
4. Grab beer and shot gun and walk to car to cox snake out.
5. Shoot snake without spilling beer.
6. Bondo hole in car while drinking more beer.

Just leave it alone. Don't touch it even if you are 99.9% sure it's nonvenomous. Once it's food source (the mice) is gone, it will move on or die from starvation.

Gas tanks don't blow up when shot like in the movies, mythbusters showed that. They were pumping tracer rounds into a tank and no dice.
