I know someone has done this. . .

Pulled the wiper nozzles. My PO - lovely gent that he is - painted the hood - nozzles included - with rustoleum. Luck would have it that the driver's side still sprays. I've stripped the hood except for those pesky nozzles.

How to get 'em out??

Very carefully. Seriously,,, they may have been ruined by the PO, so just pry and twist and get them out of there, and if they are junk,,, buy new ones.

Okay, so I've done a little more thorough searching. Sound like there are barbs that spring out to hold them in place (like a fish hook).

I stood the hood up vertical to get a good look at mine, went at 'em blind with needlenose pliers - I'm at a loss. I've removed all of the trim on this car and these are the buggers that have me?

Anyone have a source for new nozzles if I wind up taking these off with a knife?

I have taken them out to paint. I couldn't get a hold of the clips on the sides because they are so deep in the support structure of the hood.

I gently broke (heh) the clips to get the nozzles out of the good hood. Save the rubber grommets if you can.

I ended up cutting the steel surrounding the nozzles from a crumpled parts hood I had at the time. After they are cut loose you can get the clips loose from the hood steel and get the nozzles out intact.

The plastic used in the windshield washer system is brittle. I'm glad I had a parts car.

IIRC you can buy these nozzles new.

I think you could fabricate a tool to squeeze the clips together if you had the inclination. I had the parts car so I didn't have to be dainty about it.

Good Luck.

Make sure you put the nozzles back on the correct sides.

It sure would be easier to cut the steel out around the nozzles to unclip 'em.

I've got so much trim to clean white rustoleum off of that I think I'll just buy new. It'll save me an hour and for $10 at performanceproducts I can call that one a mile away.

I don't remember the exact size, but I just slipped a short piece of pipe on them to release the locking tabs.

Good price. I just paid $8 each for my 240D. Problem is that they squirt over the windshield.

The spray location is adjustable with a hobby size drill bit, or a small piece of stiff wire. The drrver's side sprayed, but from one outlet and the other side did nothing. I used some thin wire, but it did nothing, so I grabbed my pin vice and really small drill bit (do not remember the size) and reamed the nozzels. They all work now, and I was able to adjust where they sprayed using the same drill bit.

most nozzles are adjustable with a safety pin-stick it in the hole and adjust-it is like a ball joint, kinda. i find that optimal adjustment at 0 MPH is not the same as 70MPH so some adjustments are nessicary

I am so glad to have these forums. I seriously would have probably gone years with nozzles shooting over the roof.
