Another W124 Transmission Question

I don't know why, but I think my transmission is possessed or something. I cannot seem to get consistant shifting. Occasionally I get bad flaring (moreso under partial throttle), and stacked shifts between 2nd and 3rd (will shift into 2nd, then immediately into 3rd). It seems to be worse after a several hour drive. I have 10" of vacuum comining out of the VCV (vacuum control valve). I also turned the screw on the blue amp all the way in. I've adjusted the bowden clockwise, which did seem to raise the rpm points where it shifts under full throttle. I've also turned the modulator adjustment clockwise about 4 full revolutions. One question I have about the modulator adjustment is does it only work for 360 degrees of rotation? In other words, if I rotate it 1.25 turns, does that only translate to a .25 turn adjustment? Or does the more you turn it, the more it adjusts the vacuum?
By the way, the transmission was rebuilt not too long ago, not sure how reputable the shop was. The fluid level is correct, and is clean. Any ideas what else I can try? I am almost tempted to pull the vac line going to the tranny, that should firm it up!
