Door lock problem 77 300d
My wife told me there was a problem with the door lock on the 77 300d. Sure enough, the whole tumbler assembly is no longer attached in the driver's door. Turn the key, nothing happens. Remove the key and the whole tumbler assembly pulls out. Can anyone explain what has happened and what I need to do to fix it. Looking at the back of the tumbler assembly, it looks as though there is a little eye thru which a pin should travel to hold it in place. Is that how it works? How do I disassemble the lock? Will that pin be hanging around in there somewhere once I get it apart? (if that is the problem).

Got it apart. Sure enough there is a pin of some sort that is supposed to hold the tumbler assembly to the unlocking assembly. Pin missing. Anyone have any idea what kind of pin it is? Tired a 3\32 split tension pin and it is too big. It takes the constant turning of the key so it needs to be strong.
