1998 e300 turbo diesel wont start
 

My car turned over this morning but wouldnt start.I added 4 gallons of diesel(tank was showing quarter full) tried again still no go.Any ideas? thanks in advance

Probably the classic air in the fuel line problems.

Crank key manually for 30 seconds and then using a strong flashlight check to see if ANY lil bubbles are visible in ANY of the clear plastic fuel lines.

If bubbles are visible you have a bad o-ring on one or more of the fuel lines letting air in. Additionally, there a o-rings beneath the shutoff solenoid on the side of the IP and under the fuel pre-filter.

Unless very bad, will usually start after cranking 30 secs or 3 or 4 cycles. After 3 or 4 cycles you need to let the starter motor cool down before trying again. If it seems like it is catching, KEEP cranking for anohter sec or two to be CERTAIN it is running.
