What is the proper way to replace fuel line?

I have a fuel return line that has begun to leak. The return line goes from the front injector to the top banjo bolt on the primary fuel filter. Is there any special procedure to replacing this line. I have a replacement line that I got from Phil (E5000-103594 Fuel Hose) but since this line does not have any clamps I assume it is a tight fit. I read somewhere that you have to heat them in boiling water first and then push them on the barbed fittings and when they cool they will shrink fit. It that correct or is there a better way?
