anyone seen these? car remote for my W123 or w115?

i am german and frequent ebay.de, and i came across many different people selling remote central locking systems for cars that dont have such systems yet. i thought about it and i would only need one motor pulling down or pushing up on the driver locking mechanism to either lock or unlock the door. these systems are cheap (19 euros -40 euros) and easy to install.

the key option is only available for E and C class, because you have to buy special blank keys made for these remotes. they are not availble for us, but at least we could use the remote kit.

let me know what you guys think, i will translate the page i linked below, so give me a minute for that.

i am willing to try it,

i forgot about bablefish, and tried it but it is horrible. i will still translate it if you guys want.

If you hold the close button for 1 second then the locking system closes the door and blinker lights blink once.
If you do the same to the open button, the blinkers will blink twice.
The car find button causes the blinkers to go off until you press it again.

Upon purchase you get access to the forum for more help you have have issues.

2 year warrantee

The key option is not possible for our w123… it is only possible for cars that have the special blank keys available to purchase. I only found E, S and C class blacks, so remote is our only option. Still not bad.

Post any questions, as I did a rough translation and not word for word (too long).

if they work well that could be a nice cheap kit. Wonder what is the shipping and duty to the USA.

another seller was saying 22 euros for his kit, which is reasonable considering that most US ebay sellers charge way too much for shipping anyway. $15 for a memory card...

i emailed him and asked him how much shipping would be.

I bought a cheap little motor off ebay for $10, then built my own 15-second delay circuit that activates a relay for 2 seconds (another delay circuit) to lock the door. It dosen't look too good (wires sticking out of edge of door leading to cheapo button), but it works. I want to install a full alarm system later, so I don't wanna spend much on the current stuff.

I have a keyless entry/alarm on my 123, it's a "Python" brand from a local alarm/radio place. It's pretty simple, just add one electric door look actuator to the driver's door and the vacuum system takes care of everything else. Adding a remote start would be a little more "challenging."

I have an idea for the remote start, an extra ALDA line switchover valve should do the job, just use it to disconnect the line to the vacuum shutoff using some wire thats only are on when the car is on

I am not German but browse German eBay on a regular basis. It seems that these keyless entry systems are half the items for sale if you use the search criteria "W123". I always thought they were too cheap to be any good. They have four motors to completely eliminate the vacuum locking system.

Babelfish is OK when going from German or Dutch to English but because the verb is usually the last word in the sentence in German or Dutch but not in English, the order of the words in the sentence is wrong.

I'm sure it could be done with a solenoid in the vacuum line to the shut-off valve and a timer to allow for the glow plugs. I thought about it and decided the changes required would be too "intrusive" and it would just introduce more stuff to fail. Besides, I don't need a remote start.

The remote start alarm system I'm looking at already has a diesel feature that "turns" the ignition to the on position for a set amount to time before starting. I plan on going to the junkyard to pull a replacement ALDA valve (mines clogged), and an extra if I can find one for remote start.

yeah i've been also thinking about how to rig a remote start on mb diesels. but my idea was a combination of a manual/remote.
the remote should have a least three buttons:
button 1: switch over valve to release the vacuum on the fuel shut off
button 2: glow plug
button 3: starter

heres how to use it, push button 1, and the red tail light come on to tell you that vacuum is released, then push button 2, and the orange turn signal light will come on until the glow plug process is done, and as soon as the orange signal lights turned off after glow plug, push button 3 to start and as soon as the engine start, the red tail light will turn off, just like how it supposed to on the battery light in the intrument cluster.
