15PPM Diesel

Looks like this ultra low sulfur is already for sale in Alameda, CA. Filled my tank up with it tonite for the 1st time.

Curiously( this may sound dumb), can I add like 1/2 a pint of virgin cooking oil into a full tank of diesel? Will that improve the lubricity of the fuel?

My exhaust has smelled different and weird since my last fillup....its probably a mix of the new and old stuff. Car seems to be running the same....smoother than before but I attribute that to the synthetic oil I am using. No leaks or anything either....

you can add that. that is a pretty small amount, though. you can also add a qt of atf, or spring for power service- $5-$7/qt, treats 100 gal.

You'd probably be better off adding Redline Diesel Catalyst or some Marvel Mystery oil, both will add some lubrication, and you won't have to worry about waxing in the diesel from using a vegetable based additive....plus, big bottles of Mystery Oil are only like $3-4 and would treat at least three full tanks (depending how much you put in, I did a whole bottle to a tank before! Man did it run smooth! :D)

that small amount of veggie oil wont be enough to form a wax but it would serve as a better lubricant then any of the additives mentioned. Powerservice is like a diesel purge, a good % is just diesel fuel.

We've had low sulpher diesel here in Florida for the longest time.
I think the lack of lubricity in LSD is a myth.
