Thumbs up Fuel tank interchange?

I need a tank for my '85 SD... will a tank from an SDL fit my car?

Perhaps, what material is the tank made of? I just bought a MIG about two weeks ago...

I'm pretty sure W126 tanks are just steel with a paint coating on them.

I guess the decision factor is just whether you want to spend the cleaning/time/effort/cost of welding on it, or just get a new one and throw it in.

heck, just grab one at the yard. You need to see exactly where the leak is, though. May be an easy fix....

I just sent one to the crusher. I remember them telling me I needed to pull the tank beforehand. I forgot.
