Heads up, I may have a line on Euro lights for the CHEAP

I found a guy in Indonesia/Aussie land who bought some federal lights from me on ebay. He is swapping out for his euros. I am going to have him send me his old euros and refund his auction when I get them. If everything works out I'll get his Euros for the cost of shipping!!!!

And this is where it gets good, hes got friends that want the federals as well...

I will keep this post updated, turn around time is 4-6 weeks.

isn't it cheaper to deal with Europe?

I am working on a similar project here out of Germany.
The bottleneck at the moment is collecting and storing US parts in the Cali area. One single shot towards Ohio/PA I could probably arrange for free (some smaller parts, no bumbers...).
Regular shipping costs should exceed normaly the value of the parts.
What parts are top on your list? (Just to get an idea how hard it is to find).

Ditto what hitman says. I'm guessing in Aussieland they are all right handers to. I cant imaging the visability would be worse with fresh lenses. Not compared to todays H4 xenon bulbs..

no sealed beams

of course we (in Europe) have to replace the sealed beams.
I found replacements which are as good as Jeep Cherokee's H4

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. (or pond) I have talked to a Dutch guy who has a US W123 and he loves the big bumpers and sealed beam lights. Go figure. It is about being unique I guess. To me the W123s look so much better with the Euro bumpers and lights, but I too want to look unique.

The '86+ lighting in the W126 probably was pretty good new. Like said, with new housings and some quality bulbs... I bet it would be pretty good.

Heck, we can use those Hella H4 units to replace the sealed beam crapola in the '85 and downs.

Well, not perfect but pretty good for only two years...

I know, it's off the thread, but I'd like to take the opportunity and offer translations english-german to the forum, kind of as a return for all the help and advice that I got from here. I also have contacts at MB in Germany, in case somebody wants original euro-parts. PM me, I'll be glad to help.

In my case i am trying to do that with a dude in france both for the headlight and the bumpers and even the hitches... but Shipping on the bumpers and hitches is an absolute killer. Even Freight.

Keep in mind that if you get European headlights from Australia or Indonesia, the beam pattern will be INCORRECT for LHD (US) roads and you'll blind oncoming traffic! Not a good idea.
