Maybe OT but take a look at this Diesel MB!

Here's a photograph from April's issue oc C&D they had a race between three old Diesel sedans, one was a 1980 300SD..

take a close look at this photo (well, as close as you can for it's size)

and can someone please tell me how common these little styling pieces are? on the trunk, front valance and rockers??

I saw this and just about crapped myself. I GOTTA GET SOME OF THESE!

You would put that plastic crap on your classic W116!!
So the theory I guess is that little cheap silly looking "strips of plastic" make a classic and timeless auto look better? Just because it is different?
Anybody with me on this one????

BTW, that road test was discussed here quite a while back. Seems like it was an Olds diesel, a Nissan, and the Benz? Then they sold all 3 on ebay. Seems like the Olds sold for the most......

**btw, I'm not real sure I would call them "Styling" pieces.....

looks frign long too. but it is a 116... now if it was black and in 100% showroom condition and a lil low now that would be boss

i agree. when i had my benz my brother kept trying to get me to put 20's on it
