91 300D 2.5 Turbo Greasecar FS NY

Ok. I don’t even know how to start this. I’m selling my 1991 Mercedes 300D 2.5 turbo. It has 181,000 miles on it. A quick history on the car. I got the car last year about this time. I paid $7000 dollars for it. I got it home and in about a months time I started to burn anti freeze. Being an ex mechanic, I thought it was the head gasket. Called the local Mercedes shop and asked them the same day the coolant started to come out, if they could repair it. They stated not a problem. I took it to them. They started the job, then called me. It wasn’t the head gasket. The head itself was cracked. He explained to me that it seemed that the head gasket was just replaced and that the person who replaced it used an after market head gasket and reused the head bolts and they can only be used once. So I had to order a brand new, new casting head. It’s a new design. $1800 dollars right from Mercedes in Germany. While they did that, I got new hydro compensators, valves, rings, seals, timing chain, ratcheting pulley for the alternator, glow plugs, vacuum shut off valve. I think that was all at that time. I have myself and I have the receipts for the parts, have changed, all 5 injectors, water pump, thermostat, radiator, coolant reservoir, injector lines, main vacuum line from brake booster to pump, I replace the belt tensioner and shock on engine, front struts, and strut mounts, rear shocks, both front ball joints, and both tie rods. I put a new vacuum box that controls the power locks. That was around $280 and hours of rewiring the messed up wires. I put new rims, not used, new OEM 95 style rims, New tires, two months ago. In July I had the Air serviced with R12 it was what it had and it only needed a pound of it. I also got the Transmission serviced. It was shifting hard between first and second. They fixed a vacuum issue and it shifts smoothly all gears. Inside I put a new Radio, fix the center console. The color is off because the color in the car is sand and I got a Palimeno. I put a wood selector for the gears. All windows work. All electric stuff work, Mirrors, lights, Climate control works fine. Center vents work fine. Air works great, Heat works great, blower motor works great, Sunroof works great, open and vent. I spared no expense.

Then in June, I put THE GREASE CAR KIT in. Wow. That system rules. I run about 375 miles on 12 gal of WVO. I’ve put about 3000 miles over the last few months with WVO. I get at my local Chinese restaurant. I put a boost pump in the grease line which helps pull the grease through the system and take the pressure off of the lift pump. I put a temperature gauge that tells me what temp the WVO is running. This system is excellent. So much, I just went out and brought a 1999 Mercedes 300 Turbo Diesel to do the same thing to. So I have to put this one up for sell.

There is two things that I have to mention. One is that Car fax shows that the car has an Speedometer error on the miles. If you do a car fax search you will see that it was a shop error when they put the miles in, because the next reading is on track. I have the carfax and will email it to anyone. Besides that since then I have had the whole engine rebuilt. I also had a fender bender. Sitting in traffic stopped, I had a guy hit the back of my car, pushing me into another car that had a higher bumper. There was no frame damage, but it did mess up my hood and right fender. It w-as fixed with the insurance so that shows that it wasn’t that bad. The good thing about that is that the Allstate repair shop painted the whole car, all but the driver side doors. He wanted me to pay out of pocket to do the doors. I want to do them, but I pick up my new baby this week. This car is available to be viewed in New Windsor New York, or when I’m working, In the Bronx. I’m a Detective in the NYPD and have a crazy schedule so email me when you want to see it. I am not selling my oil filtering kit that I use at home to clean the oil before putting it into the tank, but you can find that at www. Greasecar.com . Any questions feel free to contact me and I will send my cell number. All questions will be answered.

This car will be going on Ebay in the next two days. Maybe one. If I have time. If you want pics. I will be taking them today. Its- around 4AM so give me some time. Also if you want to call me my number is 845-926-7088. Don't call until around noon. Must sleep a bit.

Oh, I'm looking for around $8300 for the car or best offer.

Rob
