Just wondered whether this is really an 85. My 85's air filter does not look like this.... |

Hahahaha
"42-45 miles per gallon".... try half that.
|
Yeah, about half that is right for the mileage.
I'm also suspicious of the fact that the AC needs to be recharged. With these compressors the oil is mixed in with the freon, no? So if you're running it without freon, you're destroying it. So I wonder how the guy knows it needs to be recharged... |
Without system pressure I do not think the compressor clutch will engage. But I know little about air conditioning living in the artic here.:D Also needs a little charge on ebay is about the same as saying system needs a total rebuilt usually. It's hard to read and understand most ebay ads. Just today I read a description of perfect paint followed by dent in door and various other body flaw descriptions. Interpretation is needs body job and repaint. Otherwise body is pretty good. Why cannot they just do the logical extension. Remove the perfect paint, repair the body and put it back on. Same car had perfect interior followed by few holes in seats mentioned. Plus the cracked dash. It never ends for entertainment value. You can also buy it now for 5000 or 5500 if I remember as well. At some point body leaks like a sieve will become indoor swimming pool included. Give it a little time. A fairly common mention is windows all work and then they describe the one or two that do not go up and down.

I've also noticed that most E-bay ads say "wouldn't take much to make this a show car..."
...yeah, new paint, quarter panels, windows, tires, brakes, upholstery, carpet... just like new. be afraid, be very afraid... |
