Two turbos? You sure about that? Unless you have some sort of weird "FrankenBenz", that can't be. Post a pic.

Aloha

Hey, I am from Hilo, I have a 81 240D. Where are you guys from on the Island? I was amazed how many W123s diesels are here around Hilo. Can I ask a favor? Would you guys know were a 300TD might be for sale? All I really need is the engine so if its rusted out thats all good too, its going in a 1966 Land Rover ambulance.

Thanks

Got any engines?

Hey there,

I'm looking to replace an engine for my 79 240D, manual tranny, I'm on the Kona side. Anyone know of any engines or other options here on the BI? My last resort would be getting a new one shipped from the mainland, but looking locally first.

My other thought is to take a trip to the mainland, buy a replacement car there, have it shipped and then swap the engine, and have a bunch of spare parts...

Is there a place to have MBZ diesels rebuilt/worked on there on the east side? I heard a while back about some independent repair person that worked on MBZ, off the side of the road going to saddle road. Has anyone ever heard of him? Thanks in advance.

That's one turbo. The turbo has two sections, a turbine section that is spun by the exhaust gasses and a compressor section that adds pressure to the intake air. These two sections are connected by a shaft.
