Fresh air flap ?

I finally got around to pulling and plugging lines in the dash.

Center vents now functional, floor vents work. I assume the vacuum actuator behind the golve box is the fresh air flap. If so is it 100% fresh or recir. when the shaft is fully contracted back towards the driver's side?

Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Jason

I think towards front of vehicle is 100% recirculation- from the sound of it.

I have been working on mine too. I cleaned out the vacuum line from main plastic line check valve in engine compartment to CC system switch(s) assembly( 5 of them) on the right of center console behind panel cover piece. Cleaned out the switches with brake clean also. They had some black carbon crap restricting them. A couple of them started working again. All of the dash pots valves work that I can see.

I found two broken plastic linkage connections on the dash pot to vent arm linkages. I cross tied two little plastic wire ties on the arms and they are working for now.

I removed the switch assembly, disconnecting electrical, vacuum hose ect. marking and making note of positions. I tested them all with vacuum gauge and fuse jumper box tool I have(snap on short finder) on the bench. Measured ohms resistance. Found one that did not work, had around 8 ohms. the others where 45-50. Still 2 other with good resistance did not switch vacuum. I will try them again, and clean some more before I go buy used ones.

If going to wrecking yard, I'm going to take my dvom, vaccuum gauge and fused jumper. Just have to find a good 12 v source to test switches before I buy.

Tools used: mighty vac hand vacuum pump, 4mm vacum line, vac splices and tees and lots of golf tees.

Working on the guide rod mounts/bearings this weekend too, hopefully. She has been sitting in garage all week, not safe to drive on freeway with the front end shaking. Trying to get the guide rod parts on saturday.

I have updated my sig now. Thanks - I was trying to figure out how the shaft rotated towards the front of the car when I saw you are an SD. Thanks.
