HELP Oil filter housing stud stripped!

Does anyone know how to get a stud out of the top of the oil filter housing? Its stripped and after I did an oil change the oil came spilling out of the top. I have an 80 300SD

Thanks

If the stud is long enough, force thread a nut on it then force another onto it as well. Effectively locking the two nuts together. put your wrench on the bottom nut and unscrew the stud. I say force thread it on because the original threads are gone. You might try a tap and die to recut a different thread on the original stud.

or go to a parts house and pick up what is called a stud remover. they are designed to do just that, and can be had for under $10.
