Overfilled Transmission

what are the possible damage that may result on a transmission overfilled with fluid?

my cousin is in town and told me that he is bored, so i asked him to service my 300Ds transmission with new fluid and filter. he is pretty much mechanically oriented so i dont have any problems with him working on my car so i let him do it while taking my nap this afternoon.

when i woke up, it's already done and drove him to one of his ex-girlfriend's and i drove back home.in the garage, i saw all 10 quarts of the mobil1 atf that i bought are all empty which appears to me that he poured all of them to the tranny. so as soon as i found out, i checked the fluid level, and there it is!!! the level is way beyond the hot/max line with the engine warm, at park and idling.

actually it is all my fault because i didn't tell him to use only 7 quarts out of the 10 atf.

did i damaged the tranny after driving it with an overfilled fluid at approx 60 miles back and forth in the interstate?

You didnt say it acted any different during your drive so probably will be fine.

I would drain 4 qts into a VERY clean container, check the level and top off to the correct level.

Thumbs up

Pop the plug on the pan and drain the pan. Add a quart the start it up and let it idle... just refill correctly.

yeah, it didn't act or behaved anything unusual for now, so far, but my concern is if it made some internal damage on the seals, valves, and bands. thanks for the advise anyway!
