Just finished installing the guide rod mounts on my 82 300sd. I ran into a few problems, the self locking nut on one of the bushings broke away from the metal holding it. I made a square nut tool out of 1/4 plate steel. I thought that I was only going to need it on one side. But suprise suprise the other side broke the same way. If anyone wants to borrow the tool let me know.
JD BLUE thanks for the tip of using the come-along. I backed my pickup up and used it as my base, I put a C clamp around the lower control arm, and the cable to that. It worked like a charm. Now all that's left on the list is R&R the A/C, flush the power steering pump, change the tranny filter, adjust the valves and Oh yeah fix the lights on the sun visor.
Thanks Again for all your help
