Leaky injector return line

I replaced an injector and return line friday and the line has started leaking where it attaches to the injector nipple. I used new return line. It appears that a small clamp would solve the problem, anyone tried this?

Is it just one?

Probably the best route to take is to remove that section and check the nipple for barbs. A little emory cloth touches them up quickly. (Sometimes they get nicked from cutting the old hose off.)

To install them is a little dab of spit is a wonderlube.;)

Is it leaking between the hose and the nipple or between the nipple and the injector case? The nipple can come loose in the injector case which can happen if you bend the nipple such as by using an inappropriate socket. I'm not aware of any repair for this other than to replace the injector. It might be possible to transfer the case from another injector. I don't know if that disturbs the setting of the injector.

Are you using factory spec braided return hose?

Yes, I'm using

factory spec hose. I can't tell where the leak originates, but fuel seeps from around the end of the hose/base of the nipple. I'll check for barbs and be sure it is all the way on. Thanks for the help.

I don't think that "clamps" are the answer...

If you didn't do so this time, next time purchase at least a yard, maybe two of the return line and yes, make certain it is "spec"... and as you make a new connection with a new piece of return line hose, it has to be "TIGHT" and if not, reverse the new piece and try the other end. The need to be tight.

Also make sure that these short pieces of return hose are long enough to NOT be pushed around by any of the throttle linkages.

You should keep a couple of spare feet of this hose in your trunk.

NO, you should NOT have to use clamps!

IF this problem persists, investigate the possibility that the is a stoppage somewhere in one of the return lines.
