trans vacuum valve rerouting

I was doing some work on my mothers 1981 300d and i noticed the vacuum lines were rerouted and there were no vacuum lines comming from the trans vacuum valve that sits on top of the head. I've never heard of this on the forum and havent been under her hood much. She use to have a mechanic who lived and breathed 300d's. I'd swear he could smell what was wrong and fix it in no time. I wonder if it is possible not to have any lines what so ever comming from the vac valves or did someone since her mechanic retired mess with the lines. RAY M.

Vacuum valves

You need to do some searching - I took mine off - I understand this is as much EGR related as anything. You should find a wealth of info conducting a search on this forum.
