vacuum line 300sd
I think my problem is with my diaphragm but I wanted a second opinion. My engine will not turn off and my door locks will not operate. I took off the vacuum line to the booster and put my finger over the hose. The car locks were great and the engine shut down fine. Is the diaphragm the problem?

I would put you mity vac on the main line from the vac pump. Plug any other outputs and then see what the vac reads. If it still leaks pull the line off the break booster, and plug it and see if it holds. If it holds then it is definetly the booster, if it still doesn't hold it's your vac pump.
Sounds like it is your booster but this will tell you for sure. |
booster
I am not having any problems breaking. The powered breaks are great. That is what is not making sense. How could the booster be bad and it not affect the braking?

These sytems are somewhat temperamental, it doesnt take much of a leak to make things go wacky, might be a small enough leak that with the volume of vacuum in the booster it still gives you a good feel there, but lowering vacuum enough to affect other components, if you disconnected the booster ad everything else then worked, I agree that it looks mighty like its the booster doing it, use your mityvac and check both the system and the booster, seperately.
