W123 center dash lights out? look here

So some or all of your center dash lights out (A/C panel, sunroof/defrost panel etc). After you check your fuses, do this:

1. Pull the wood trim off the A/C control panel, it snaps off.
2. Remove the four screws you immediately see.
3. Pull out the panel slightly, you will see a loop of wires going to each lighting location. When you turn on the headlight switch, you can see which bulbs come on. To replace the bulbs, just pull the socket out of its little hole, pull the bulb out and replace.
4. For the panel above the AC (reading light, antenna, sunroof, defrost on my car), pop the radio out.
5. The bulb that lights all four switches is right behind the radio, and four or five fiber-optic (tiny) cables come out of it. It just pulls out of its socket. Replace the bulb if necessary.

If I have time, I will add a pictorial.

Good luck!
Patrick
