I'd say for most Mercedes, debadged, just looks cleaner and less guady (not that they do look gaudy in the first place). Less chrome can be a good thing. A debadged W126 (especially a 560SEC) looks very very cool to me. I would debadge mine but it is so dirty around the badged area that I'm afraid I couldn't get it looking good

I like the de-badged look on the W210, besides the stickum on my letters started to fail and I lost a couple in the car wash. Don't need people asking what a "TU BODIE EL" is, so I just took them all off

For my 240D, I went with the euro badging style. Took off the diesel emblem and filled the holes. Looks cleaner and more unique to me. Almost fully debadged, but decided I would keep the 240D to remind people behind me why I'm going so slow

Debadged. That's how mine came when my dad ordered it. It looks very clean, especially on the white car (the debadged look is also great on a black car). The trunk lid just looks so uncluttered and "sophisticated." My car has a clean look all around ... no pinstriping, no badging, no plate indent on the front bumper.
That's not to say I think badged models look crappy or anything ... and if they were all unbadged, then there'd be too many times I'd see a 124 or 126 in a parking lot and wonder if it's a diesel ... but never know (unless someone gets in and starts it up).

Waxing around the letters is a real pain. I'm considering removing mine just for that reason.

i was going back and fourth on this after my W124 was repainted. For now its de-badged only the MB star is left on.

Although i liked the "turbo" badge because in my mind i would think people would think its a speed demon Some of my friends who didnt know it was a diesel thought, "wow this thing has a turbo? did you put a intake on it? it must be fast!"

i always get a laugh at that.

I was so tempted to slap a AMG badge but that would be a little much

I can go either way on the issue, I like them badged or debadged. I think it's funny when people debage their diesels, they think you won't be able to tell just by looking if it's a gasser or diesel, but the sooty bumper and tail lights give it all away.

Badged. They're original. Keeps the cars authentic. And frankly, MBs *without* badges are pretentious.

With the diesels I keep it stock, espeicaly with the SDL. I don't want some MB newbie mixing up a rare SDL with a run of the mill SD.

If I had say a 500E or something that is a bit of a wolf, I'd take the badge off the rear, leave them guessing. I always thought it would be a hoot to put E350 4Matic badges on the rear of an E55! Some guy in a Viper or Z06 would be pounding the dash of his car pissed off because he can't pass a V6 MB.
