I finally fixed my rear wiper! Still, I don't know how I did it! I tore both working motors apart, de-greased and degunked, and put them back togather. That's when I noticed they had different part numbers and neither was wired the way the diagram suggested.....couple that with the fact my wiper full-time / wiper intermediate switch buttons are....well, switched around at the dash.

So, I piddled. and got one to work. At this point I did not question why it worked! I just nailed it down and closed the tailgate back up after installing more eggcrate foam rubber for sound deading.

It is sure nice to have the carpet panel back in place and the interior all back togather again. The rear end is now very quiet. The wiper works great....at least at the car wash! My dash buttons are still backwards and at this point, I don't really care!!

I think the major factor in this fix was a cool north breeze. I work better without sweat running in my eyes. Heck, I may take on the dang no-op tach today!

There is such a fine line between hero and *****head...or should I say small wire??

I don't guess you snapped a pic of your added foam situation? I wouldn't mind quieting down my rearend too..........:eek: :eek::D

Jimmy, I think it was the C&C factor...crap and corrosion that kept it from working. That and all my "tests" were done based on the wrong button being pushed on/off. I hate electric/shorts/wiring stuff...bad mental block!

Btw...on your TD, what IS the correct rear wiper button position... full time on top and intermediate on the bottom??

The foam filling is pretty basic...just cut and stuff the tailgate full. I now have foam under all the floor matts front and rear, the tailgate, front kick panels....she is pretty quiet on the inside now.

That is correct.
I don't have to worry about insulation until I get the drivers door aligned better. The wind noise from that is all I hear anyway....:(

Wouldn't that insulation trap water which would lead to rust? Chevy did this in the early '60's and that was the result.

^^^ I have used washers to shim doors- place under lower hinge= raising latch end of door.
