Oil Conditioner Question

Our diesel "sweats" oil and one of the maintanence technicians, since retired, had mentioned an additive that could be put in the oil to soften seals that age and lack of use from winter storage had stiffened.

Is there such an additive and should it be used?

Personally, I wouldn't use such additives. Oil lubrication is very critical in a diesel for piston cooling, etc. It's better to fix the real problem. Sure seals can get a little dry from non-use, but I believe it is better to go for a long run and warm things up and they usually recover.

auto-rx---->http://www.auto-rx.com/pages/applications.htm

this product dissolves sludge in the motor and seals allowing them to swell.

I used this product to flush my motor but not for leaks but it is supposed to stop leaks as well.

see the site for info.

I have no affiliation with this product, i am only a satisfied customer.

Steve
