Fuel Filter Bolt O-ring question

1996 E 300 D, 162k

The new fuel filter I have comes with two o-rings for the fuel filter bolt. I see where the larger one goes but I do not see where the smaller o-ring goes. There appears to be a place at the top of the threads where it could go but it does not seem secure. I see the diagrams from the Russian site but the exploded view is no help for where it should go.

By the way, does anyone have a link for the main page for that engine 606.912.

over 43 views and no one knows where the other o-ring goes!

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=210020&M=606%2E912&GA=722%2E438722%2E600&GM=717%2E446&CT=M&cat=19T&SID=07&SGR=120&SGN=04

This diagram shows the parts. I am interested in where the O-ring, part number 11 in this diagram goes during re-install of the fuel filter. Does it go below the housing after the bolt has been put through the top? Does it go next to the larger o-ring? Do I throw it away?

Thanks for your help.

I believe one O ring goes on top of the filter like on the 617 and one on the bolt.

I guess then I put the small o-ring on the bolt below the housing (it won't go through the housing otherwise and then screw the bolt into the filter? It should then be on top of the filter between the filter and the bottom of the housing. Does that make sense?

Yes that seems to make sense.
