Which warning light is this?

It is the one between the brake light and the battery light, looks like a circle with some dashes around it, mine came on/off/on today. What is it telling me and what do I need to do to fix it? I thought it was for the turbo but that seems to be running fine. If I knew what it was for I would do a search! I did look on the cd's but couldn't find any pictures of this. I guess I need to find some of the books that originally came with this car, that would be good too. Thanks for the help.

That's your brake pad sensor. Your pads are probably in need of a change, most likely the front.

Yep, means the front brake pads are just about gone, maybe 1-2k left on them depending on your driving/braking style.

It could also mean that the previous owner of your car didn't bother to replace the wear sensors and you just have a loose wire grounding out and causing the light (the case in my car). In this case you just need new wear sensors at $3.00 or so each. Unfortunately fastlane forgot to send mine with my last order.

Thanks for all the info. It just started today. I need to check and make sure I didn't pinch one while working on the passenger front end. Then again the driver's side always has a lot of brake dust covering the rim. I was planning on rebuilding brake system in the spring, oh well.

If it just needs new pads/sensors thats not that big of a deal, just inspect them and see how much pad thickness is left. Should it need just pads (if the rotors are still ok in thickness) its not even $35 in parts and maybe 1.5-2 hours of work tops.

yeah, the hardest part is compressing the pistons. I use a screwdriver to pry the pistons against the caliper and get them back as far as I can, then I use a welders c-clamp to compress them all the way in. you will probably need some pb blaster on the pins, and a wire brush to clear all the rust and dust off the springs. Do one side at a time, unless you know exactly what you are doing.

I knew about that light when I first got the car.

When I first to my car, the light came on when I started it up an would go out shortly after.

it doesn't come on anymore...at all.....pads are good..

Thats not right, it should come on when starting the car, then go out. Your bulb may be dead....
