I had the dealer replace all the fuel lines 2 months ago when I started to spring a leak. Last week, I had to take it back in to have them all replaced again!
Thankfully the dealer covered it under their warranty... but I'm curious why it could happen so quickly again.
Obviously it could be they used the wrong lines or the lines were of an inferior quality/defective... but could it be the additive I'm using? I always throw in some Power Service Diesel Additive (buy it at Flying
Js, wherever). Since the switch to USLD, I started putting in more than before (instead of 8oz per tank, I now put in about 16oz). I've noticed a slightly stronger smell at the exhaust, but everything else seems normal (great mileage, etc).
Any thoughts? (1995 E300D 228,000 miles - original owner, dealer does all maintenance)
Thanks!
