Arrow Confirm Rack Dampner, please

All the way in, no change, no stalling

Ok, working on smoothing out idle, started adjusting in the bolt. made only the smallest difference (which may have even been my imagination). Its now bottomed out against the set bolt. After high speeds, not the slightest hint of stalling. Unless the brass bolts can discolor, its an old gray. May I safely assume its shot? (need to wait a bit to test a cold start)
Thanks!

From what I have read on this forum about the rack dampner, it should not be all the way in. I need to adjust mine out a hair, since cooler weather hit, my car does notlike to idle when cold.

What I read indicated that the only real problem with it all the way in is poor cold starting. I'll try that in a few minutes. If the spring is completely shot, my guess is that it wont even affect that.

Nope, no problem cold starting; still no stalling after driving.

Is there a problem with the idle quality?

If the idle is acceptable and it doesn't stall and it's not difficult to start..........then leave it alone.

shakes and stumbles a bit while cold...
Motor mounts/shocks are bad, but it smoothes out nicely when warm, so I dont think they are the primary culprits here.

You've got no issue with the rack dampener.

Check the valve lash lately?

How long do you glow it.........till the light goes out??

If I glow it till the light goes out, or if I wait a lot longer, it makes no difference. It fires up just fine; just doesnt like to cold idle.

No, its been a while since I checked the valves. I'll put that on the list.

In the meantime, shouldn't the rack dampner have made some difference?

In the meantime, put IP timing and cam timing on the list. When you complete the list, then, we can discuss rack dampeners.
