I rarely break 3K RPM, am I damaging my engine?

In my sedate daily drives I infrequently break 3K RPM. I do cruise the interstate at 70-75 MPH for 30 min or so each day. Am I collecting carbon in my engine? Do I need an Italian tune up once a week? Will driving without high RPM's lead to an early demise? Your thoughts please.

70-75 is a fast enough speed to burn out the carbon.....make sure u accelerate full throttle on the on ramp, and u will be fine....

still, an excursion up to 100mph or so is the best medicine for a Benz motor.....

...and bad medicine for you wallet. Speeding tickets are expensive.

The engine will probably last longer running like this. Still it couldn’t hurt to give it a good Italian tune up every few weeks..but remember it is RPM, not speed that is important.

AND load. Just revving the engine will do nothing. It needs to be at full throttle.

True, but there is more load on the engine while accelerating than when cruising at 100 mph.

that may be, but its HOW LONG the load is on the motor that determines how good the soot's getting blown out..........

I run my 603 to the stops several times a day. Don't be afraid they are not fragil you won't hurt it!

Heck the 603 sounds freaken sweet at 5k rpm, I do it just to enjoy the sound.
