My SD has the old style primer pump. But when i had $20 worth of ULSD spill out. It wasnt coming from the primer pump, it was coming from the IP. transmission stop leak helped the leak stop. But then it suffered power loss. Pulled each injector 2 had some carbon build up (from what? i dont know i wasnt running wvo just ULSD) Acetone and a wire brush removed the carbon though. Diesel purged it and put in about a gallon of bio and it runs much better now.

Primer Pump revisited.....
Quote:
I did the "purge" today, had not fooled with the pump primer since I did fuel filters....I have the "old style" pump....leaks like a sieve until it's screwed back down.....then no leaks at all....... Just thought you might wanna know....... SB

If you have the old style primer pump replace it, its just going to cause problems eventualy.
ULSD has nothing to do with it, those things always leak I don't care what you burn!

Yea BUT.....
G'mornin',
They should not leak if the friggin' cap/plunger is screwed back down..... SB Note: I have read somewhere that the old style pump is mo'betta for Bio-Diesel.....and I am headed down that road.....changing fuel lines at present!!
