Installing new head gasket on 616, install dry?
I'm getting ready to re-intall the head on my 240D now that the head is back from the machine shop. I purchased a Reintz (spelling?) head gasket kit. Do you install the head gasket dry or put some kind of sealant on it? I assume dry but I know what happens when I assume something :-)
Thought I would check. Thanks, Hodakaguy (Tom C.) |

Dry.
Follow the proper torque steps to the letter: http://mb.braingears.com/123_DISK2/program/Engine/615/05-105.pdf |

Thanks, Dry it is! So looking at the online manual it looks like it will take 4 steps not including the 10 minute settling period, the last two are just turning the bolts 90 deg at a time with a regular wrench? (180 deg total).
Thanks again.
