The drain plug was a lot easier; copper washer was in place. Steve
Always see if you can fill something BEFORE you drain it.......

Personally, I like to know what the lube level was before I drain it.....so I automatically remove the fill plug first......in regard to this latest Benz, on my first attempt to remove the plug I welded a bolt and nut together (did not have a 14mm allen) and was twisting the bolt......stopped, located a 14mm allen.....not an easy find around here....bought it.....then put car on a lift, cleaned out socket in plug......tapped plug with hammer.....then used the new allen wrench and 2' of pipe to remove fill plug.....also no copper!!!

Is there supposed to be a copper seal ring in there??

The manual doesn't say nothing about a copper washer, so i guess it doesn't need one...
