Sun Roof

Im having a little bit of trouble with my sunroof. First, There is no headliner over it so I can see the metal cable that is suppose to pull on it. However, the cable just slides in the tube untill I hear a noise then the sunroof starts to move abit and will fully retract if I help it. If I dont, the cable slips and the sunroof stops in its tracks. When pushing it closed the cable moves all the way to the front and the tip has a metal piece on the front which physically contacts the sunroof and pushes it almost closed. I assume that there is suppose to be a pin contecting it there but im not sure. Also the sunroof does not completly seal meaning it doesnt move vertically up. I have to pull on that bar that goes across the sunroof inorder to fully retract it up so its seals.
Maybe somebody can help.
Thanks,
Mike.

There is a clip that captures the end of the cable that then screws into the lift bar at the back of the sunroof. When the sunroof is closed this lift bar is in its forward position, and the back edge of the sunroof is supposed to be slightly over flush with the roof. When the switch is pushed to the open position, the cable drags this bar backwards and it pivots downward, lowering the sunroof so the back edge will go under the outer roof. Then the cable drags the sunroof under the rear roof panel. The clip remains attached to the nib on the end of the cable and has to be put on so it matches with a slot in the metal tube you noticed so that as the cable retracts into the tube the clip can protrude through the slot and drag the sunroof backwards, then push it forwards when it comes time to close.

New clips are a pennies (ok, maybe a dollar and half) from the dealer. Hope this helps, Jim
