1990 300D Leaks any idea were from image attached
 

Hi,

I purchased this 1990 300D. In the photo of the engine I noticed 2 leaks. One from the top rear of the fuel pump and the other on the bottom of the oil filter housing. My main concern is that the fuel pump is not bad. The car runs and drives great. Anyone have any thoughts on what is possibly leaking and how easy the fix would be? Thanks,

The leak on your "injection pump" looks as if it it might be from a delivery valve seal.

Cant see the oil filter in your photo but you do have a leak at your power steering pump. Probably a hose connection.

Thanks for the reply. I am an idiot. What I was calling the oil filter housing is actually the power steering pump. Thanks again. I own a 1981 240D so I am used to the 123. The issue with the fuel pump doesn't appear to be expensive correct? Thanks again

The seals are not too tough, but are a little techinal. Parts are a couple of bucks for a o-ring and a crush washer for each valve. Labor looks easy on yours as everything is out in the open and easy to get to. Probably take an hour or two. You will need a torque wrench and to search the forum for the torque procedures. Cleanliness is very important.

Do all of them, not just one.

Check the seal of the lid on the PS. It could be the cause of the fluid leak there.

The oil filter is at the rear of the engine compartment behind the wind sheild washer bottle, up top. Metal canister.
