motor mount bolt challenge

Decent wheather today so I decided to pull the engine in my 84 300d parts car ( I want to get it ready to go in my 1950 GMC pickup ), and wouldnt you know it the last bolt I needed to remove is not cooperating. The motor mount bolt on the passenger side. The 6mm allen head one. The one thats up in a hole where I cant use a visegrip or cold chisel. I thought about using a cutting torch, rubber on the mount wont like that though. Anyone have any suggestions?

Some folks have had luck pounding a star headed socket into it, then removing carefully.
Somebody who replaced my motor mounts got mine out that way. Problem is, they put it back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It boggles the mind...............

That is actually an 8 mm set screw. Mine is stripped out on the right hand side, and almost stripped out on the left. I got the new bolts from MB, just waiting on the extractor set from snap-on so I can finish the motor mount replacement project.

You shouldn't need to remove the small bolts
on the top side to pull the engine. Remove the large bolts underneath and
the engine carriers will lift off the top of the mounts, leaving the mounts in place.
Once the engine is out, you should have all kinds of room to extract the top bolts......

8mm not 6mm

I stand corrected. I know its an 8, I mistakenly typed 6.
