Best example of a 300SD left in the world.

Thats it guys, you always say you would buy them if MB made them again, here you go.:D Looks 100% original down to the tires! Thats my kind of collector car, no stories, no BS, 100% original. If I were in the market I'd pay $20kish, I think its worth about that. Just looked at the add again, yep thats the best W126 I have ever seen. Maybe MB will CPO it for you and let you lease it?:D |

It certainly is beautiful. Too bad it has that gray interior.

 $34,900.00

From the price he's asking, I would say it's several thousand less than what he paid for it new? Paul.

Wont 34,900 will buy a nice E320 or even a higher mileage CDI?
	 |

Hmm, it looks identical to my 83... except for the condition of course.:P
anybody wanna offer on mine? "exceptional Grey MB Tex only offered on S Class" John |

Gawd, that's beautiful, and right near me! I have the very same interior. Mine was a Montgomery County car too in previous ownership. I wish I could see this survivor.

Great example of a great car AND original owner - wow.
	 |

10,537 MILES ON THE CLOCK! 10,537.....that's like 439 miles per year....this guy must have WALKED everywhere he went, he sure didn't drive!!
	 |

He flew and had other cars, read the add.;)
Makes sense, I know of a couple mint W126's in a private hanger. Owner prefers to fly either by plane or chopper, so his W126's just sit. Of course I am waiting in the wings.:D |

Well, I wrote the seller a question, hoping for an opportunity to view this car in person. I can't buy it so I don't think I'll be seeing it. The seller is friendly and responsive. He did not need to, but he posted my question in the listing (third up from the bottom). A benefit of this pristine listing is to be able to study the posted photos as a restoration/conservation resource archive!

That car belongs in a museum (MB, if you're seeing this, why don't you buy it and put it on display at your museum in Tuscaloosa, it's closer to me than your museum in Germany is).:P

 Insurance

Let's say someone buys this car with the intention of DRIVING it and not putting it in a warehouse or garage (novel concept but I'm sure some would consider this even with the cars history). Can this car be insured for its 'value' if it is used as a daily driver?

The only problem I see with this car is that the seller has a brand new ebay user ID, with absolutely no history at all.
