Sanden 508 series is a VERY common compressor; superceded with new models that are essentially the same. Readily available seals, clutches, etc.
What are you doing with it? Replace? shaft seal? Start here: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=t&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-32,GGLD:en&q=sanden+508 http://www.sanden.com/products/piston5models.html Sorry I don't know the exact model # for the euro, but the chart will help you zero in on it.

Well, Days of searching on Google for what model Sanden SD-508 goes on a Euro 84 turns up nothing. I was wondering how hard it would be to retro fit the car with the more common type of compressor used on US models?.
Thanks

A 9514 (old #) or a 4530 (new #) would be the Sandens that have a #8, #10 fittings, 12v., single belt pulley and vert. ports. Since the port/cyl. head and the clutch pulleys are interchangable from the old to the new, I would bet you'd be safe with either Sanden I've listed and switch off with the old, if you need horiz. ports or such.
I don't know your car (euro), but I know a little about these compressors. Going to the GM/Delco/Harrison/Delphi R4 compressor, used in the U.S., would require new brackets, hose/manifold, etc. While the R4 is a workhorse, the Sanden is superior. There is a guy on Ebay named techchoiceparts (or some such) in Midlothian, TX who may know the exact answer to the euro question. I'll try to get better info on him. You're just down the 405 from me. I've got all A/C equipment, if you're doing this in CA, rather than NV? PM me if you want a phone call. I'll try to help FWIW. Edit: Yeah, that's his Ebay name. See if he knows. The SD 508 was used on mid 80's Saabs and VW's for sure, also.
