Odd transmission issue

So I'm leaving the house this morning heading to get some fuel and I notice that the car will not shift into 4th gear. Stuck in 3rd.

Fuel station is not far from home so I go ahead and fill up and decide to head back to the house. When I get in the car and head back it shifts fine just like it always has.

I stop by the house anyway to check the tranny fluid level and it is fine. So I'm wondering what got stuck?

Check you linkage bushings. I have the "not paying attention" problem since the "D" and the "S" do not have a separate indentation like the rest of the positions.

I though at first that may have been the issue (that the shifter just wasn't fully positioned into D) but I checked it and it was all the way forward.

I have that problem sometimes, and putting it into the full forward stop doesn't fix it. I have to shift all the way into neutral and then drop down into D. I guess the linkage needs to be adjusted... I can't wait to put in the 4 Spd.
