Picked up a 300 TUrbo Today - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Well folks, after many many post on what kind of car to get etc, i finally bought a 300 turbo diesel today about a couple hours ago. it has some pretty bad external cancer on it , but mechanically its good. i just plan on using it for my winter beater. I just noticed when i got home however that the dash has absolutly no cracks on it. and the interior is pretty remoarkable, the drivers seat is still cushie and no broken springs, unlike my 240D. Its kind of a gold color with palmino interior. the rear wheel wells are rusty but undercarage apears to be fine, a jack whole is rusted out, but the floor boreds seem to good. no rips in the interior, i might actully swap the to front seats out with my 240. ill try to get some pictures up soon.

some improvments that need to be done
-the mounts on the air cleaner need to be replaced. it rattles around like no other
- runs rough at idol. when asked when the filters were changed last, he said about five years ago.

so thats first
-valves need to be adjust. probly were never adjust since he had it
-take off hood pad, since its already falling off.
-fix passanger side windows, they dont go down or up

when i got the car, i opened the sunroof, when i got home it would not close or open. i dont know if the motor just died then and there, or if the rocker switch is gunket up.luckly i got it to close manually.

all in all im happy with my purchase. we shall what happens. pictures to follow

Hey, I`m excited for you.

I picked up a 300D Turbo last weekend and I`ve been having a blast driving it all week. Needs a little work, but is solid and fun to drive! Enjoy your new addition!

You need to clean and lube the tracks for the sunroof, and adjust the clutch on the sunroofs motor, just don't tighten it too much

for sure, ill take pic somtime early this week. also, how do you adjust the clutch on the sunroof? now that i closed it, the darn thing wont open agian, i took the switch out to see if maybe its worn out. but, i dunno, it would be kinda funny if the motor died right then and there. heh.

Never mind, i found the clutch for the motor, tightened it, and now it slides. SUCCESS!!! just needs some greeze now.
