Vacuum Orifices Part Numbers/Lock Issues
As most of you know, I posted about partial lock function, and we all read the thread started by Firemediceric that had excellent step by step instructions on checking the VCV and tranny modulator.
I was missing item #63 in the EGR vacuum diagram. There are part numbers and colors posted by Sam Ross. There was some uncertainty to the part numbers that were posted. I am copying the part numbers again, and I can tell you the part numbers are absolutely correct. They match what the dealership has. The only difference is that they are now called NOZZLES instead of ORIFICES. Part number are: Color: I.D. P/N: Yellow……2.0 mm..……..1162760929 Red……….1.1 mm….…….1162761029 Blue………1.0 mm…………1162761129 White……0.8 mm…………1162761229 Green……0.7 mm…………1162761329 Brown……0.9mm….……..1162761429 I did find the lock problem to be caused by the front passenger door vacuum lock element. I disconnected the vacuum to the door, and all else works properly. On my 300D, under the carpets, the Yellow/Red stripe is the locking circiut. The Yellow/Green stripe is the unlock circuit. I still have the dash vent vacuum leak, so that is still unplugged. I'm not so concerned with that since I still get air from the center and the dash. Thanks need to go to Samuel Ross for getting the part numbers and thanks to Brian Carlton for providing the plain english instructions on checking the VCV. Now onto other issues...
