rear subframe question

Will a rear subframe from a 420 fit my 83 sd steve

I believe that they are identical in the years up to 1985. The subframe changes in 1986.

Did you sort out the reason for the excessive camber?

very painful brian, it seems that the sub frame from a 85sd had been in a crash with a tree, left front, so I guess the subframe was tweeked, as my right rear wheel is 1/2" closer to the front of the car than my left rear wheel.I unbolted the whole thing hoping I had missed something, no luck, I must replace the whole rear subframe again, for practice lol steve

Didn't you already replace it once due to excessive corrosion on the original??

That's really unfortunate..........doing work twice is definitely no fun.

yes I did, now I will do it again, I must be nuts.........

Well, the work doesn't compare, but, if it's any consolation, I tore the center part of the dash apart for the fifth time on the SD. This time was to replace the shifter bushings. Getting the shifter out of an SD is a royal PITA.

#6 is not too distant. I'll need to run the cable for the CD changer when it comes back from repair.

due to the fact that all the bushings in my damaged rear subframe are less than 1year old, has anyone had any success at removing the same and reusing them or will I have to buy all new ones? steve
