Protecting inside door from scuff marks?

While getting out of the car my sneekers keep hitting..and leaving black marks on the drivers door just under speaker. I have the light colored interior. I have tried some plastic stick on "furniture protectors" but nothing sticks to the door panel material. Any after market or home brew fix for this "Problem"?

the 126 has carpet there.

perhaps you can make a stainless plate and screw it to the door panel.

you could get a plate cut to size at a sheet metal shop. a plating facility can polish it.

The 126 doesn't have any carpet on the doors...its plasticy vinyl stuff....

My idea: open door wider, and don't hit with shoe.

Or: Get non-scuffing shoes.

Yup, now I just have to figure out how to keep my kids from kicking the doors.

Same Problem Here

On my 1998 E300 and 1999 E320, the thin fabric on the front doors is always getting scuffed. When I vacuum the car, however, I rub very vigorously with a white bath towel. The fabric looks like new. Hope this helps!!!

As you know the door panel has a fuzzy texture. No problem cleaning off the scuff marks just afraid I will rub of the texture one day.

As for being more carefull getting in and out ..I am 6'6" and 300 pounds..size 15 shoe (G)
